James Dowbiggin is a Canadian piano technician, keyboardist, and composer. Having studied music and piano since his early youth, he strives for distinction in all areas of sound. Since completing his Honours Bachelors of Music at Wilfrid Laurier University, he owns and operates JD Pianotech between Halton and Hamilton, and also works as a technician at Oxford Piano Service with Mitchell Oxford. His emergence in piano technology summoned his dedication to skilled professionalism and quality service for every piano owner.
Throughout his career, James cultivated a musical sensibility among an internationally diverse community of artists, performers, and workers. He has worked with organizations such as NUMUS, Wilfrid Laurier University, the International Society for Improvised Music, and many festivals including the Atlantic Music Festival, the Burlington Sound of Music Festival, the Open Ears Festival, the Kultrun World Music Festival, and the Waterloo Region Contemporary Music Sessions.
